Qld man charged over homemade bombs

A MAN has been charged with illegally making explosives after crude homemade bombs were found at a home south of Brisbane.

Police went to the home at Greenbank, near Logan, on Thursday after neighbours reported hearing explosions.

They found containers filled with what's believed to be a powered chemical explosive.

Specialist police were sent in to make the area safe.

A 24-year-old man is facing a range of charges including manufacturing explosives without authority.

He's also charged with possessing a magazine for category A or B weapons, and drug possession.

He will face the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on November 20.
